Plasma 3D TV Versus LCD 3D Displays: Which One Do You Choose?
3D TVs are still in there infancy in the electronics market, with only a handful of suppliers, but still it can be a little overwhelming choosing the right 3D Television.
For most watching a Plasma 3D TV and LCD 3D TV side by side they seem to work just as good as each other, but like most things there are drawbacks, the pros and cons if you like, so its good to take these into consideration before buying.
Understanding the Refresh Rate
There a number of things to consider but one main factor is the refresh rate between the Plasma 3D or LCD 3D. Reading the manufacturers specification is not always easy to understand, so making it harder to know what exactly you’ll be getting.
One important thing to point out is the LCD still has a problem displaying fast-moving images properly. What you will experience is the refresh rate is not fast enough, so producing blurring and ghosting, despite TVs claiming high refresh rate.
It is a different story with the Plasma 3D screens as they are able to deal with fast moving images. The Plasma sure wins this battle offering high quality picture during fast paced action scenes, great if you watch a lot of sport.
Another point won for Plasma, it can display the full 1080p picture, can not be said for the 3D LCD TVs can’t quite match the full 1080p resolution.
Brightness
LCD TVs generally do better than Plasma screens when it comes to brightness. This is due to the LED backlight technology, LCD 3D displays are now even better in this respect.
The Screen brightness is important when it comes to your new 3D TV set as you’ll be wearing glasses to view 3D screen images, and the glasses make the screen appear dimmer.
LCD 3D TV may be the one to go for, but the Plasma TVs are designed to compensate for this. Both models offer good results when it comes brigthness.
Your Viewing Angle will Make all the Difference
It is a know fact that when watching a Plasma TV the viewing angle is larger than when watching a LCD Television. This is because of the way the light is projected from the screen. LCD TVs have always had a problem when viewed from wider angles, the light is not 100% but this has improved a lot over the years. This has always been a problem when a large party of people can’t sit directly in front of the TV.
Conclusion
Both 3D TV platforms offer a great viewing experience. But, the Plasma 3D TV is the one with the better picture, it seems to have the edge over the LCD in the market at the moment.
