3D TV Glasses: An Essential Part of the 3D Experience

While 3D technology is amazing, you will still need the 3D TV glasses in-order to watch your new 3D TV.

Alot of 3D TV sets will come with the 3D specs, but you will want to buy additional pairs for for other TV users. Check out the information below to find out more about 3D glasses, more importantly making sure you select the right type for the TV.

Have you got your 3D Glasses?

Have you heard of “Parallax Barrier”? Well this is a 3D method that does not require the viewer to wear special glasses to watch the full picture.  This method uses liquid crystals placed in front of the TV screen to create the effect in the eyes of the user.

Using this technology has its draw backs as the viewer has to be directly in front of the TV screen. Also this system is very expensive to use, so TVs are still using the 3D specs system for now.

Active Shutter Glasses Vs.Polarized Glasses

These are the two types of 3D glasses that are generally used. The Active shutter glasses are battery powered which link to an emitter in the 3D Television set controlling the shutters within the glasses.

This action happens so quickly that you will not notice. When watching 3D films at the cinema, Polarized glasses are used. This type of 3D specs allow the eyes to see offset images, while not using flashing shutters.

Polarized glasses do not require any power to operate, and not used for home use as these glasses need a very large TV screen in-order to work correctly.

Standalone 3D TV Glasses

Not got the budget to stretch to a 3D TV – well not to worry did you know that you can buy high tech 3D specs which show the movies inside them.

One of the biggest benefits to having such a gadget is the freedom as you can take them anywhere. Note they will cost more than the standard 3D glasses.

Buying The Right 3D TV Glasses

When buying Active Shutter Glasses, make sure they are the same brand as your TV, in-order for them to work correctly.

Another thing you’ll want to do is check the battery requirements, making sure to keep them powered up for use. How pairs of 3D glasses do I need to Buy?

When buying a 3D TV make sure there are Glasses included, and also how many come with that particular TV.

Now you’ll probably find that they will come with a couple of pairs but if have a family of 3 or more then you’ll going to want to buy additional pairs.

If not, one thing for sure, there will be fights who actually gets to wear them as the picture is unwatchable without 3D glasses.
